Color matching issues happen on a more frequent basis- Color matching issues in the apparel industry happen every once in awhile. That can be predicted, considering that the apparel industry uses numerous materials like polyester, nylon, rayon, cotton, silk, etc., that potentially all must match each other.
Everybody knows that no material supplier can match every color standard inside a CMC DE of .8 each time in all your light sources. However, if Textile Testing suddenly needs a nose-dive plus they begin sending you lab dips or production that seem to be NOTHING just like your standard or are consistently above a 2. CMC DE with no explanation, you have to address it IMMEDIATELY along with your supplier.
Usually do not pass go- usually do not collect $200. Have your corrective course of action in position and start its execution NOW. Don’t turn a blind eye and expect that things can get better. Color matching conditions that go un-addressed always worsen, never better.
Material quality issues happen on a regular basis- Your supplier used to submit passing test reports with every lot just like you required. Better still, that they had an inside certified lab, tested everything internally, and not shipped anything outside your tolerance without forewarning along with a darn good reason (and then only on rare occasions).
But lately, they have been sending material to your garment makers with failing test reports and no prior warning or explanation, or they have got stopped sending reports with the goods altogether. Perhaps even your garment maker is re-testing the merchandise as there are no test reports, which is failing their in-house testing, that is now holding increase your garment production. Nip this in the bud immediately, by executing your brand’s corrective course of action.
After the issue is delivered to their attention, the supplier promises to fix them- but the issue is never addressed fully. Sure, they read and respond to your emails a bit faster for a couple weeks once you bring the issues to their attention, and perhaps they even can come visit in-person to smooth things over. But a month later it’s deja-vu all over again, and you’re having the same issues as before.
Your garment maker refuses to keep the most basic interaction with the supplier without yourself on copy- At first, your garment maker only copied you on the most important issues. LITTLE. THING. This is CYA at it’s finest, and that i don’t need to tell you that you don’t have enough time to handle this.
The supplier changed your material specs without your consent. This is the ultimate sin in terms of I’m concerned, and it’s happening a lot more frequently within these economic conditions. It usually happens like this: the thing is increased material quality failures, send the samples off and away to a 3rd party lab to become analyzed, as well as the weight is entirely off, or even the filament type used will not suit your material spec sheet.
